Luxe Top Ten Things to do in Whistler

Whistler/Blackcomb

North America's premier ski destination and voted #1 by skiers the world over. Whistler Blackcomb offers over 8,100 acres of skiable terrain over two mile high mountains. The two mountains together form the largest ski area in North America and feature more than 200 marked runs, 38 lifts, 13 alpine bowls and three glaciers.

Peak to Peak Gondola

The world's longest free span lift connecting the peaks of Whistler and Blackcomb.

Garibaldi Provincial Park

On the door step of pristine wilderness, Garibaldi Park encompasses the Black Tusk, Garibaldi Mountain and Lake. Offers hiking, backpacking and cross country skiing.

Whistler's Adventure Zone

Joy riders of all ages love Whistler's Adventure Zone. An adventure for the whole family that includes the Westcoaster Luge track, rock climbing at the Great Wall Climbing Center, the bungee trampolines, horseback riding and spinning on the human gyrospoke.

Whistler Bungee

Jump into the bungee zone at Whistler. Set on a new pedestrian bridge, Whistler Bungee is one of two licensed bungee-jumping spots in British Columbia. Offers a vertical joy ride, dropping 49m/160ft into a spectacular gorge.

Ziplining

Strap into a full body harness and zoom across a series of cables that span the forest valley floor. Two ziplining companies in Whistler have exciting zipline courses. At Ziptrek, fly along the first of five zipline cables over Fitzsimmons Creek and the forest valley between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. WildPlay's Zoom ziplines provide the ultimate perspective of Cougar Mountain.

Whistler Museum

The Whistler Museum & Archives was created in 1986 to collect, preserve, document and interpret mountain life. The museum brings Whistler's history into focus through engaging exhibits, programs, presentations and vintage collections. Trace Whistler's resort development through memorabilia from the 1960s onwards.

Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Center

Designed in the form of a Squamish longhouse and a Lil'wat istken (a traditional pithouse dwelling), the Center features fascinating displays, an istken, interactive performances and traditional craft making. Be sure to try some of the reasonably priced fare at the cafe; the First Nations influenced menu includes venison chili, smoked salmon and bannock panini.

Whistler Film Fest

Every December, Whistler rolls out the red carpet for the Whistler Film Festival. More than 80 films are shown during the event, which is one of Canada's leading film festivals, and big awards are handed out to some lucky filmmakers. Always held on the first weekend in December, this film fest embraces the wintery setting: a Celebrity Challenge ski race is part of the festival entertainment, which also includes celebrations, tributes, awards, and a free outdoor screening.

Mountain Bike Park

Over 200 kilometers of lift-serviced gravity fed, adrenaline fueled descending mountain bike trails. The park offers something for every level of bike rider. Find everything you need right here - maps, tickets, camps, lessons, rentals and gear.
