New Canaan Maps and Directions
Westchester County Airport - 15 miles - taxi, car rental, limo service. The easiest way to find out about schedules and fares for public transportation from all major tristate area airports are the ground centers in the arrival halls of each airport. One service is called the Connecticut Limousine. You can take it to South Norwalk and take a taxi from South Norwalk to New Canaan. The taxi fare is approximately $20.00. We can also arrange for a private limousine to pick you up. Please call the Inn ahead of time to organize everything and consult New Canaan maps for more information. If you rented a car, following are directions from all mayor airports to New Canaan.
FROM KENNEDY AIRPORT Take the Van Wyck Expressway to the Whitestone Bridge. Once you cross the bridge, stay to the left and follow the signs for the Hutchinson River Parkway north. This becomes the Merrit Parkway once you enter Connecticut. Follow below directions for Merrit Parkway.
FROM LAGUARDIA AIRPORT Take the Grand Central Parkway to the Whitestone Bridge. Once you cross the bridge, follow the above directions for Kennedy Airport.
FROM NEWARK AIRPORT Follow signs to the New Jersey Turnpike. Once on the NJ Turnpike follow signs for the George Washington Bridge. After the bridge take the Cross-Bronx Expressway to I-95 North. Follow below directions for I-95.
FROM WESTCHESTER COUNTY (WHITE PLAINS) AIRPORT From the airport parking lot, turn right on to Rye Lake Rd. Go to the end and turn right onto King Street. Turn right on to the Hutchinson River Parkway. In Connecticut the Hutchinson River Parkway becomes the Merritt Parkway. Follow the below directions for the Merrit Parkway.
FROM INTERSTATE 95 (NORTH OR SOUTH) Exit 15 to U.S. Route 7 north. Leave US 7 at Exit 3, following sign to Merrit Parkway (Route 15). Leave Merrit Parkway at Exit 38. Now refer to Merrit Parkway Southbound, just below.
FROM MERRIT PARKWAY SOUTHBOUND: Exit 38. At end of exit ramp (traffic light), turn left on Route 123 north for 1.7 miles. Turn left at traffic light on Route 106 south for 0.6 miles. Turn right at traffic light on Route 124 north (Main Street) for 0.8 miles. The inn will be on your right.
NORTHBOUND: Exit 37. At end of exit ramp (traffic light), turn left to follow Route 124 north. In 2 miles, Route 124 turns right at Cherry Street (traffic light) and left in next block on Main Street (traffic light). Continue on Route 124 north for 0.9 miles. The Inn will be on your right.
Getting Around
New Canaan RR Sta. - 2 miles - New York City one hour by car or train. New Canaan has one local taxi company. Downtown is just a 15 minute walk from the Inn. We recommend renting a car if guests have to get around a lot.
