Enjoy San Francisco Attractions
440 Post Street is a half-block from Union Square, an unbeatable place to begin your visit to San Francisco. If San Francisco has a crossroads, it's Union Square. It's the city's center for shopping and theater, as well as the hop-on point for the cable car to the stars. Union Square itself hosts art shows, lunchtime opera, last-minute rock concerts, and the city's annual Christmas tree.
If you like a morning walk, step out our door to the corner of Post and Powell. Walk down the diagonal path through Union Square's center, heading for Neiman Marcus. Half a block to your left you'll discover the entrance to Maiden Lane, a delightful two-block alley of exclusive boutiques. The inside of the Frank Lloyd Wright building at 140 Maiden Lane is a study for his interior for the Guggenheim Museum. If youre coming in from dinner, take a few minutes to walk a block down Post to Tiffany & Co. Their window designers display extraordinary creativity on their very small scale. Stop in the bookstore on the way back; it's open until 11pm.
